COVID-19 Lockdown: DCE for Kwabre South Throws Blows at Police Officer


The District Chief Executive for the Afigya Kwabre South of the Ashanti Region, Christian Adu-Poku, has been involved in a near fist fight with some police officers. Christian Adu-Poku was allegedly challenging the police officers who were trying to get him to comply with the lockdown imposed by President Akufo-Addo.- The video of the DCE and a police officer in a war of words amid threats has popped up. The District Chief Executive for the Afigya Kwabre South of the Ashanti Region, Christian Adu-Poku, has been videoed in a severe altercation with some police officers. While details of what sparked the near fist fight between the government official and the police officers remain sketchy, it appears the officers were attempting to get Hon. Christian Adu-Poku to comply with the president's directive regarding the partial lockdown. Personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces and the Police were charged to ensure strict compliance of the president's orders by the public. Christian Adu-Poku was allegedly to be challenging the directives of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.One of the police officers who was involved in the altercation noted that the DCE attacked him. ''A whole government official throwing blows on policeWe are going to report your conduct,'' the police officer said. Christian Adu-Poku was also heard hurling insults at the police officers while labelling him as a thief. It was earlier reported that the Ministry of Health has confirmed that the total number of recorded cases for COVID-19 is now 195 as of April 1, 2020.Also, the Ghana Health Service confirmed that another COVID-19 patient had recovered from the disease. In other news, a video has surfaced of some nurses reported to be workers at a New York health facility praying. The footage shows the nurses on their knees while praying to seek God's intervention against the dreaded coronavirus. Source | Summary
