Tawa Braimah, a former broadcaster with Starr FM has addressed rumours that she is a lesbian and has been advocating for the freedom of LGBTQI in Ghana. Tawa Wrote on Facebook that she has seen the viral reports online that she had confessed she is a lesbian but she wants to state clearly that she is not. She added that she does not have to be a lesbian to fight for their rights and she identifies herself as a cisgender and heteros*xual woman. "I woke up this morning to a news article whoch purports that i had confessed to being lesbian. Apparently my post from yesterday was all the evidence needed to 'out' me. Since it has come to this, i feel the need to state that i identify as a cisgender, heteros*xual woman. I am not a lesbian and i don't have to be one to advocate for the rights of members of that community," She began. Tawa concluded by saying the false publication was a plot from scared individuals to shut her up but she will continue to fight for equal rights of humanity. "I Know this is a vicious attempt to silence me other well-meaning people who believe that every Ghanaian deserves to be treated with respect and dignity regardless of their sexual orientation. I an a firm believer in human rights and will continue to use my voice to advance the cause of humanity.” Reports circulated online that another Ghanaian journalist, identified as Tawakalitu Braimah, had come out as a lesbian few days after Ignatius Annor confessed. Tawakalitu has been advocating on her Facebook page for the legalization and freedom of LGBTQ in Ghana since news of the opening of an office went viral. "Now more than ever, I am grateful for the community of like-minded people I am a part of. They've kept me sane these past couple of days, from screaming my voice hoarse at the sheer incredulity of some of the arguments being made on these streets," She began. "Not being liked is a huge risk that we take. Having family worry about how people will perceive us and by extension how our views reflect on them is another gamble. People will try to police what you say under the guise of concern but what they are doing is projecting their fears on you.” I choose humanity above all else because, at the end of the day, it's the only way thing that truly connects us. Religions have and continue to evolve, cultures are adapting and assimilating every day, repressive and dehumanizing laws are being repealed and replaced by more progressive and inclusive ones. We all have those days when we don't feel like waking up, days we wish our chaotic brains will just be still for a while. We're consumed by anxiety, fear of the unknown. "These are things that we all share and for me, that's all the reason I need to demand that we all deserve to be treated with respect and dignity no matter our differences. Sister Derby has been very vocal ever since the LGBT conversation started. She is openly advocating for the offices to be opened and for people to allow and accept others on whatever decisions they make on their s3xuality. Sister Derby says what is important is the fact that the parties involved are consenting adults. They want nothing to do with LGBT because not only is it sinful but also atrocious. They have asked that the president does not legalize it regardless of all the Human Rights attachments. NDC's Sam George is one of them has called the EU who are helping with the set up of the offices be sacked from the country immediately. "The EU Commission rep should be given 48-hours to leave our country if he is not ready to respect our laws. You cannot have any foreign diplomat come to Ghana and disrespect the laws of our country because if we go to their country we are bound by their laws and the same applies here."We are becoming a joke if the EU has put up a tweet like this and after 6-days the EU rep is there drinking tea with government officials and doing business with them. The wife of loudmouth Ghanaian politician, social commentator and former musician A Plus, Akosua Vee, has clapped back with fury at Mona Gucci over a recent attack. Akosua Vee caught some stray bullets after her husband was attacked by Mona following the events of last Saturday night's United Showbiz. Mona named Abigail Williams and co and Massachusetts School of Law as the two institutions and since then, she has been trending all over the country! In anger, Mona attacked A Plus recently, claiming that he's broke and his wife Akosua is also broke and stranded in the U.K. Mona claims her cousin is the one who pays rent for Akosua Vee. Ghanaians are always taking things 'world cup', as we say down here. We take things from other cultures and practice them so much that those who even originated the thing start looking at us sideways over our over seriousness. Religion was forced down our throats by foreigners during the era of slavery but today, Ghanaians are more religious than even the people who brought the religion down to us. Many of those countries are now moving on from religion but Ghanaians are still holding on tight, to the extent we now even condemn those countries to hell because we now understand Christianity or Islam more than they do! In the video, a Ghanaian man can be seen at Israel's wailing wall with a Jewish man by his side as they both try and pray to their God for whatever it is they want. Whilst the Jewish gentleman was being considerate and quiet in his prayers, our fellow Ghanaian was out there crying and emptying out his entire soul, praying like he was at a prayer meeting in his hometown church.
