Minister of Finance for the German state of Hesse has committed suicide. Thomas Schaefer was found dead near some railway tracks in Wiesbaden. According to Al Jazeera, Hesse Prime Minister Volker Bouffier said before his death, Schaefer had expressed immense concern over how the country will deal with the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus. Bouffier said the deceased was 'deeply worried' about the financial impact of the virus and possibly contributed to his decision to take his own life.
