His reaction comes following the widespread of Coronavirus pandemic which has shaken the world. Ghana has so far recorded six Coronavirus cases and has traced one hundred and eighty contacts of the confirmed cases. To curb the spread of the disease, the government of Ghana has put drastic measures in place. On Sunday evening, in a televised address the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, ordered the closure of all educational institutions with effect from Monday, March 16, 2020. "All universities, senior high schools and basic schools, i.e. public and private, will be closed from Monday, March 16 until further notice," the president said. He also ordered the suspension of all public gatherings for the next four weeks. These public gatherings include conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, sporting events and religious events such as services in churches and mosques. The recent pandemic which is causing lots of fear across the globe is yet to have a cure as several scientists and pharmacists are working around the clock to find how best to eradicate it. There have been several deaths recorded so far and several other confirmed cases in Ghana in the last few days. One of the latest celebrities to test positive for Corona virus is our very own Idris Elba. According to a video posted by Idris, he found out that one person he was around over the weekend tested positive thus he went to a health facility to test his status for Corona virus and a couple of hours ago when the test results came, it proved that he indeed tested positive. He mentioned in the video that he has no symptoms and he is doing fine but then the disease is real and that people should be very careful in recent times to avoid testing positive for coronavirus.
