My ‘La Palm’ song not to encourage violence

The song which features youngster Slim Vhim was released on March 6, 2020 and has since engendered conversation as to why the grandpapa of hiplife, revered by many, would put out such a record. "This very video we are about to shoot, we know it's not good. However, if we don't, who would? Some people deserve some slaps," Reggie Rockstone says in the intro of the music video but adds: "This is in no way condoning violence against men or women.” Despite the disclaimer of a sort, some are still not convinced as they argue that the lyrics and visuals project violence. "I decided to do something to get the ears of the listeners. Everyone knows I have a great sense of humour. I'm the joker so I took the decision to record a Ghana version of Redman's song because there are so many people in Ghana who in my mind, I wish I could slap them. It's imaginary". "Everyone has someone who they wished they could slap; of course they won't do it but you just want to say 'just shut up'," he explained on 3FM's Showbuzz hosted by MzGee. Reggie Rockstone has urged persons who would listen to the song not to practice what they heard. "That's not the idea at all," he laughed. "Even in the video, we gave a forewarning. It's just for humour. People who know Reggie know that he has the comedy street in him. People who say that I guess they don't know me. I'm an easy going guy, I'm light. If you can't see the humour in that then you don't have my kind of sense of humour.” Listen to Reggie's version and the original song below. Source | Summary

If The Only Thing Your Girl Misses About You Is Your D!CK When She Leaves; Then You Are Replaceable- Naira Marley

Naira Marley is seen as someone notorious and in some instances, a threat to society because people have preconceived that he is in for the rots of the youth. Whatever people perceive of him has never stopped him from getting in trouble and ultimately spewing what is on his mind which mostly are the realities on the ground. People are with people because of the utmost satisfaction they can give them in the bedroom. Not all relationships are surviving on the foundation of love. The horrid truth is, many relationships thrive on just s3x and the absence of it would immediately end that relationship. In as much as we all want to be good in the bedroom and give our partners the best of ourselves, we still want to be remembered for other things other than that satisfaction alone. We all want to be needed, thought of and indispensable to an extent even with the absence of bedroom activities and that is what Naira Marley is bring to bare in his tweet. He says if someone misses you because of your s3xual organ alone, then it means you are replaceable because that organ can be found everywhere. Source | Summary

There is no doubt that Nana Akua Addo has made her point with many of her fashion statements- some of which we cannot immediately put words together to describe because they go way beyond ordinary and often extreme. The only problem is the single fact that the picture we saw of her on social media looks nothing like what she actually looked on face value. On social media, Nana Akua looked all perfect, toned down with her curves and assets well accentuated in her dress but a picture that has popped up is rather what I ordered online versus what I received situation.
