Two of Ghana's three closest neighbours to the east, Togo and Nigeria, have now both reported cases of coronavirus. Togo and Cameroon are the latest countries to report new cases. Nigeria has already been dealing with the virus for about a week now and South Africa recently also announced its first case. Nigeria was the first country in Sub Saharan Africa to contract the disease from an Italian national who had travelled to Milan. Within a week since then, four other countries have joined the epidemic in the sub-region including Togo, Senegal, Cameroon and South Africa. "In the central African country of Cameroon, the health ministry said a 58-year-old French citizen who arrived in the capital Yaounde on Feb. 24 had fallen ill with the virus. It later said the man's female partner had also tested positive." Reuters reports. "We need to follow his contacts. Our collaborators are on the ground; they are working," said Health Minister Manaouda Malachie. "Togo said its case was a 42-year-old female resident of the capital Lome who had visited Benin, Germany, France and Turkey in late February and early March.
