Gospel singer Sonnie Badu has called for the Kotoka International Airport to be renamed after the late Jerry John Rawlings, and it's the most sensible idea to come out of his mouth in a while. Since before Jesus Christ was even born, Ghana's only international airport has been named after Kotoka, a traitor who worked with the CIA and Western powers to overthrow Nkrumah and loot our resources for his own selfish gains. He eventually got what he deserved but simply for dying at the airport, the place was named after him. A movement has been ongoing to try and get his name off the airport and a more deserving hero being rewarded with it. The man who ushered Ghana into multiparty democracy seems like a good bet for that. Sonnie Badu took to IG to call for Akufo-Addo to use his power and rename the airport after Rawlings. "He wrote:"JJ do something before you die" that was the chants!!! You indeed did all you needed to you. A great idea – it's over to Nana 'Showboy' now. He talked a lot about how much he appreciated J.J – time to show it for real! Source | Summary
